Huayuan Restaurant opened in August 2012 with the goal of offering Bern's diverse dining public the experience of authentic Chinese cuisine.

With reverence for traditional flavors, we are dedicated to preparing specialties from different regions in China using fresh ingredients and creative techniques, unconditionally respecting and preserving tradition and authenticity. We strive to bring out the best in recipes passed down through generations. This homage to tradition and modern cooking methods makes Huayuan unique.

To ensure our guests the best possible dining experience, we continue our training during our annual study trip to China, thus staying up to date with the latest culinary developments. In addition to the quality of the food, we have continuously optimized the restaurant's interior design, furnishings, and lighting over the years to provide our guests with a cozy and homey atmosphere.

Huayuan has been listed in the restaurant guide Gault Millau for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024 and 2025, with 13 and respectively 14 points.
